[woven] The Endless Fight by Farphyni [woven] The Endless Fight by Farphyni
Yeah, I'm already finished with the semester project in that subject, so I asked if I can do a "little" experiment... (that was partly quite complicated, but it was fun to do^^) so I tried to weave that piece XD -> farphyni.deviantart.com/art/Th… I had to leave out the smaller creature, 'cuz it was just to little to weave it...sorry heart, you lost that battle...
(I wish you could have seen my teachers face when I showed him what I wanted to weave XD He burst laughing and called me crazy X''D - but  he let me try it xDD - you know, usually the pupils weave nice patterns and sometimes tribal stuff, but...not something like this XD *forever alone* ^^'')

EDIT: for the white parts I used such fluffy materials. I weave that again with the same material for the white part as I have for the black parts. (...I hope you understand what I just wrote there xD...)
EDIT 2: 22.11.2013 - I updated this piece. I wove it again with the right materials x3. Go here to find the first version with the fluffy white material -> www7.pic-upload.de/22.11.13/l7…

EDIT 3: oh my gaaaawd :woohoo: Thank you sooooo much for the DD :la: :dummy::happybounce::woohoo: :la: *headshot*

just wanted to show you XD I hope you like it^^

Wow ♥__♥ I honestly can't imagine how it's possible to create somthing as gorgeous as this piece !! How many hours did you put into this work? :o

Thank you so much!! x3 Means a lot to me!
how many hours? hmm, drawing it took most of the time I guess (probably 12 hours), then changing the drawing in PS until it's "weave-able" (about 6 hours), then programming the loom took about 2-4 hours and weaving it another two hours, I guess^^

Oh !! It's programmed !! I don't know why I though it was handmade X3 Stupid me XD
I'd love to do that with one of my drawings :3

Yes XD Used the most awesome "Jacquard loom" (only with this weaving loom type you can realize such large-scale and detailed patterns). I guess you'd die if you tried to handmake this XD

Oh yes, it's fun x3! though you loose a lot of details when you change the drawing into a weaving-pattern :s

That's not surprising, it's very difficult to weave ! :)

I don't think something like a website where you can learn that exists /: because that knowledge isn't very useful anymore in these modern times. My class is the last one in whole europe who learns the basics. This sector is a dieing one. ): With this knowledge I won't find a job in this sector here in europe, because it isn't used anymore^^
Also it is quite complicated to learn and understand that - I learn this since 4 years XD and I think it's even more complicated to understand if you want to learn it from the internet. I don't think it works.
I'm sorry ):
It is indeed very cool to learn^^, but useless xD
I searched through the internet to find at least a book for you (your mother tongue is english ?) && I found this one : www.amazon.com/Digital-Jacquar… . "Jacquard" is called the technique which I used to weave this work. I have no idea if this is a good book, but the cover text is nice...and I haven't found another one xD Also I don't know if you will understand this book (because you have to know many other things to understand jacquard && I don't know if they are mentioned in this book)... oh, and here I found another one. But it seems like that it's only about the history of jacquard o: www.amazon.com/Jacquards-Web-H…

Look him up.  . . He is an apocalypse-inducing, soul eating black dragon from the game called Skryim. Based off of Nidhoggr from Norse mythology :P

cool :D no problem^^ Just don't forget it :D
It's always funny to see, that there are exactly 2 kind of AT-people <:
1. the ones who start with the AT immedeatly and finish it in max. 2 weeks ('cuz they hate it to need long for AT-Parts)
2. the ones who take all the time they need to finish their piece ('cuz they want to be sure that everything is correct and beautyful)
I can't say which group is the better AT-partner; both make awesome works <:
I consider myself being member of the 1st group xD I hate it, if there lies a work around, unfinished... I want to finish it now, doesn't matter how long I need, even if I have to draw seven days -one after another- on it, I don't do something else until it's finished xD It's excatly the same with commissions^^ I hate it to let people wait :D :stupidme: And if there lies a work around for two weeks, and I haven't contiuned drawing on it, I don't want to finish it anymore,'cuz it's "old" XDDD yeah, I'm a bit crazy, I guess...^^ (maybe because it's nearly midnight xD) ~don't mind me

Weavepoint?
